MEP(L) - Multi-Engine Piston Land
MEP(L) is an additional qualification added to the PPL(A) or CPL(A) license, allowing pilots to operate flights on multi-engine piston land aircraft. According to Part-FCL requirements, candidates must complete a minimum of 7 hours of theoretical training and fly a minimum of 6 hours on MEP(L) aircraft in an approved training organization. The MEP(L) qualification is valid for 12 months from the date it is added to the license.
- Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate.
- CPL(A) license.
OR
- PPL(A) license, including a minimum of 70 hours of flight time as a pilot-in-command (PIC) on aircraft.
- 7 hours of theoretical training in a classroom setting (individual or group sessions).
- A minimum of 6 hours of practical flight training.
- Practical exam and addition of the qualification to the license.
Practical training is conducted on a Tecnam P2006T aircraft and includes 2 hours and 30 minutes of flight training with an instructor in normal operations performed by multi-engine aircraft and 3 hours and 30 minutes of flight training with an instructor covering single-engine failure procedures and control techniques in thrust asymmetry conditions.
