CPL(A)
The Commercial Pilot License for Aircraft (CPL(A)) enables the holder to conduct commercial flights, including working as a first officer for an airline. Practical training is carried out on a complex multi-engine aircraft. The trainee pilot must complete 6 hours of training on a multi-engine aircraft or possess a valid MEP(L) rating in their license before commencing CPL(A) training.
- Completed a theoretical course for CPL(A) with a minimum of 250 hours, or completed theoretical training for ATPL(A).
- At least 150 hours of total flight time at the start of practical CPL(A) training.
- At least 200 hours of total flight time when applying for a CPL(A) license.
- Minimum age of 18 when applying for the license.
- A Class 1 aviation medical certificate is required.
- 250 hours of theoretical training through distance learning and classroom sessions (individual or group).
- 10 hours of basic instrument flight module (BIFM) training, with 5 hours on a FNTP II device and 5 hours on a single-engine piston aircraft (SEP(L)).
- 15 hours of training in visual meteorological conditions, including 10 hours on a single-engine piston aircraft (SEP(L)) and 5 hours on a complex multi-engine aircraft (MEP(L)).
- CPL(A) or ATPL(A) theoretical exam.
- Practical exam and issuance of the CPL(A) license.
If the candidate holds a PPL(A) license with night VFR flying privileges and a valid IR rating or has completed the BIFM basic module, practical CPL(A) training can be reduced to 15 hours of training in visual meteorological conditions, including 5 hours on a complex multi-engine aircraft and 10 hours on a single-engine aircraft.
Before starting CPL(A) training at ATO Smart Aviation, the candidate must have a valid MEP(L) rating or possess a certificate of completion of a minimum of 6 hours of practical training on land-based piston multi-engine aircraft.
The practical exam for the CPL(A) license can be combined with the practical exam for the MEP(L) rating within 6 months of completing the MEP(L) training.
